The bidding process

The Bidding Process

By ‘bid’ we simply mean to apply for a property.  Each week, you can bid for up to two properties.

 

Applicants can bid using the following methods:

 

• This website – go to Your Home page
• Calling the 24 hour automated Thurrock Choice Homes bidding line on 0845 2700 558
• Using a Kiosk at one of the Local Area Offices
• By texting 0778 148 6526

The bidding cycle opens at midnight on Thursday and remains open until midnight on Monday.  During that time applicants can add or remove bids and check on their current position for properties. 

 

Remember - an applicant’s position can change during the cycle, as other applicants place or remove bids.

It makes no difference at which point in time you place your bid during the cycle – it does not work on a “first come first served basis”

 

When bidding you will need:

 

• Your Thurrock Choice Homes registration number
• Your memorable date – this is the date of birth of the person who completed your household's housing registration
• The reference numbers of the properties you are interested in.

Once you place a bid, our system will check that:

 

• You are eligible to bid
• The properties you are interested in are appropriate to your registration

After the bidding cycle closes, no further bids can be placed.
